So explorers, let's dive into today's episode.
Hey explorers, it's Tara.
Wherever you're listening from, Karen and I are so glad you pressed play.
Before we dive into today's conversation, let's pause. Take a breath, place a hand on your heart. If that feels grounding.
Explorer, you've been doing so much growing, stretching, healing. But maybe you haven't had a moment to notice it, to see the progress that's already happening. To recognize that you are the evidence of your own becoming.
[00:01:29] Speaker B: To congratulate yourself.
[00:01:30] Speaker A: Congratulations. Yes, Today we're not asking you to fix anything. We're asking you to remember what's already working. Let's get into it. Love is Celebration day. This episode is a pause, a breath, a mirror. Because in a world that is constantly telling us to do more, be more, fix more, we're here to offer a different invitation.
What if nothing is broken?
What if you're not behind?
What if you are already becoming and the evidence is you?
[00:02:07] Speaker B: Yeah, we forget that sometimes. I gotta do this. I gotta fix that.
A year goes by like, hey, don't be so hard on yourself. Let's take stock. What have you already done? What are you already happy with? What have you decided to do? And you've done it.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: Let's reflect.
[00:02:27] Speaker B: Let's. Let's take a moment, pause, and just honor that. Congratulate that you are becoming.
[00:02:35] Speaker A: Our growth might not look like a highlight reel. Maybe it's in the boundary we finally held, or the moment we honored our no, the way we started speaking to ourselves with more kindness than critique.
[00:02:48] Speaker B: Yes, please.
[00:02:50] Speaker A: So many of us are conditioned to only celebrate outcomes. The diploma, the promotion, the clean before and after.
We miss the quiet, gritty soul deep work that happens behind the scenes.
[00:03:03] Speaker B: Right? Like so much congratulations and pop and circumstance for the big external moments. But many times a day, like many explosions of affirmation and validation are happening.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: Yes. So today we're shifting the lens. We're talking about how to recognize what's already working in our lives. Not later, not when we've arrived, but now.
Sometimes the proof that we're becoming isn't in the big win. It's in the fact that we're still here, still showing up, still trying.
[00:03:36] Speaker B: Show it up.
[00:03:37] Speaker A: Let's name it and celebrate it. We are the evidence.
Okay.
All right.
[00:03:46] Speaker B: The fact that you and I are just here at this room speaking, the fact that the explorers are setting aside time to listen, that they have been listening, that they have been celebrating themselves and their journey toward wholeness and all of the things that is a beautiful thing.
[00:04:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
All right, so let's start with the question, why is it so hard to see what's already working in our lives?
[00:04:14] Speaker B: Well, we've all been trained to look at what's wrong in the picture. We've all been trained that it can't possibly be as good as that. How are you gonna fix it? What are you gonna do about it?
Right?
[00:04:27] Speaker A: Yeah. And we've also been trained to only value the finish line. We've internally.
[00:04:32] Speaker B: I will celebrate myself when I get over there.
[00:04:35] Speaker A: When I get there. And we've internalized this idea that unless it's shiny impressive or Instagram worthy, it doesn't count.
Lies.
Lies.
There is this belief bypasses all of our quiet progress. It bypasses the hard conversation we didn't avoid. It bypasses the morning we got out of bed when we wanted to disappear.
[00:05:01] Speaker B: Right.
[00:05:02] Speaker A: It bypasses the fact that you're even listening to a podcast about growth.
[00:05:07] Speaker B: It bypasses the fact that you have had hard conversations, that you've shown up for yourself, that you have spent moments in self care that you never had before.
These are the wins, people.
[00:05:24] Speaker A: These are the wins that we might miss. Because the world doesn't clap for internal milestones.
[00:05:31] Speaker B: Mmm.
The world does not clap for internal milestones. You gotta clap for your own internal milestones.
[00:05:37] Speaker A: Clap for yourself.
[00:05:38] Speaker B: Would you stop for a moment and clap for yourself right now?
[00:05:43] Speaker A: Good job, y'.
[00:05:44] Speaker B: All.
Well done. Look at you.
[00:05:49] Speaker A: We've been trained to measure progress by productivity, to define success by what's visible. Into to delay this celebration until we've earned it.
[00:06:01] Speaker B: That is tricky to untangle.
[00:06:04] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:06:05] Speaker B: You gotta untangle that.
[00:06:07] Speaker A: Here's the truth.
Just because something isn't loud doesn't mean it's not working.
Sometimes our deepest transformation looks like stillness or softness.
Maybe you're not moving fast, but you're moving differently.
Maybe you're not in bloom, but your roots are stronger.
[00:06:29] Speaker B: There's all kinds of ways that the stuff can be hidden. It can be small, almost imperceptible to the human eye. But it is happening.
[00:06:38] Speaker A: And you are the reason.
All right, so this is where we bring in an activity to do what's one shift or series of shifts that you've made in the past, past year that no one else saw. But you know that those things changed you.
[00:06:57] Speaker B: What are the things that have shifted for you that you know about internally? Whether it was a different choice of a different consciousness, different way to think about something. Choosing love over fear, choosing abundance over lack, choosing yourself over the party or whatever. Knowing what you need in the moment.
[00:07:20] Speaker A: And some of us might be carrying shame for not being further along, but in reality, you are holding more self awareness, more healing and more wholeness than ever before.
[00:07:32] Speaker B: Yeah, no shame. We don't like shame here. We don't perpetuate shame. We don't live in that arena because that only continues to undermine the magnificent, glorious brilliance of who you are.
Shame will cover it. It will cloud it.
You are right on time. You are right where you need to be.
[00:07:55] Speaker A: For sure.
It's a seeming paradox. You might not feel like evidence, but you are all right.
So here's a shift that we want you to sit with today.
What if you're already standing in the middle of your answered prayer?
[00:08:18] Speaker B: What if you are already in the middle of it? Oh, if you've asked for the thing, it's here, it's happening. You're in the middle of it.
You might not have the tangible evidence, but you are in process.
[00:08:33] Speaker A: Yeah, often this evidence we're looking for is a big external win with the job offer, the launch, the relationship, the breakthrough moment. Yes, those things matter. But they're not the only proof of progress.
[00:08:47] Speaker B: Just the fact that you applied for that job is a proof of progress. Right? That you believed in yourself enough that you felt yourself skill worthy and valuable enough to apply for that thing that maybe a year or two ago you wouldn't have.
[00:09:00] Speaker A: Sometimes the most sacred evidence is subtle, quiet and easy to overlook.
It is those internal shifts that we carry in our body and our spirits. It's the pause before reacting that turns into our peace.
It's the clarity that whispers, this isn't mine to carry. It's the calm that settles after years of chaos.
It's the presence that we bring into an ordinary day instead of rushing through it.
[00:09:31] Speaker B: It's the way that you quietly hold yourself sacred.
That you know that you are important, that you matter.
[00:09:41] Speaker A: And these things are not small.
This is transformation.
Evidence isn't always about arrival. It's about alignment. It's the moments where our choices reflect who we're becoming, not who we Used to be.
[00:09:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Decision, deciding, choosing differently is a clear reflection of that. Right. You are basically stating to yourself and the universe like, this is who I am, this is where I'm headed. This is what I want.
And that old story and that old self and those old limits, they don't serve me anymore. This is me now.
[00:10:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
This evidence shows up when we. We honor our boundaries, choose rest without guilt, and tell the truth instead of performing what's expected.
[00:10:28] Speaker B: I do not want to go to that dinner party.
Not going. I'm getting in the bubble bath, reading my book, Whatever.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: Yes, that's. That's for sure. That's our proof. That's our evidence that the work we're doing is working and that we are becoming.
[00:10:44] Speaker B: That you hold yourself dear, that you matter to you.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: Here's an affirmation.
My progress may be quiet, but it's powerful.
[00:10:58] Speaker B: My progress may be quiet, but it is powerful. I feel sometimes the quieter is, the more powerful it is.
[00:11:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:05] Speaker B: Right. Cuz that's where you're doing the deep work. You know that those internal thoughts and messages, that's full of rewriting.
[00:11:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
All right.
[00:11:17] Speaker B: I love it.
[00:11:18] Speaker A: This is a shift to notice that the evidence that we aren't the end, that this evidence is the beginning, this integration.
Great word of this shift is where that real transformation takes root. It's not just about having inside sight. It's about letting the lessons land and then living them.
[00:11:48] Speaker B: It's the being open to listening, wondering, to imagining.
[00:11:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:55] Speaker B: And then moving forward.
[00:11:58] Speaker A: You're doing the healing. You're doing the hard work of unlearning, making different choices and showing up.
You're living it.
So let's talk about this integration. What does it look like in practice?
[00:12:12] Speaker B: I think that we so often get so focused on the goal of whatever that external thing is that we forget why we're here.
It's not about any of that external stuff. It is about the internal journey. It is about you coming home to yourself. Is about you loving and valuing and honoring your voice and yourself and the beingness of who you are so that you can show up in the world as this very calm, peaceful, self assured bright light.
This beautiful loving energy that will shift everyone you come in contact with.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: So what does it look like in practice? Here are three. Three. I'm back to the three.
Yes. It looks like reflective journaling, writing down what you're learning so it becomes part of your story, not just a passing thought as it looks like celebrating small, small wins out loud, speaking gratitude, sharing progress with A friend naming the shifts that are real.
[00:13:32] Speaker B: Hey, so and so did you know that I. Blah, blah.
That's the first time I ever did that. And it felt really good.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: That's like me, Sharon. I graduated therapy.
I'm like, oh, my gosh.
[00:13:44] Speaker B: I've been doing these things, thinking about it and working through it and hearing healing things, and now I'm feeling.
[00:13:53] Speaker A: To be clear, graduated therapy means I'm going to therapy less than I was when I started this. I'm not done. I am not done. To be clear, that is not what graduation means for me. And the third way is naming what's working now, not just what's next.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: Taking stock, right? Making that list we were talking about earlier, I'm like, I'm going to have the explorers make a list. Because there is so much, so much that you're already living and doing in the eternal sense every day.
Like, making a list of those things and acknowledging out loud to yourself, like, wow, look at all the ways that I've evolved, that I've morphed, that I've changed, the way I look at the world and look at myself. They might seem small in the list, but look at them all. Like, look at them all and appreciate.
Two years ago, five years ago, six months ago, maybe, that you wouldn't even have listened to a podcast that was urging you to become a little more connected to yourself, a little more aware of your thoughts and feelings and view them as guideposts. And just the fact that you're open to listening to this is huge.
[00:15:03] Speaker A: And when we integrate, we stop rushing to past our growth. We let ourselves embody the truth. I am already the evidence.
And here's the most beautiful thing about living in this truth. When we live this way, we become a mirror for others.
Not because we're perfect, but because we've stopped practicing the pretending. Yes, because we are actually practicing, practicing alignment. We're allowing our healing to show up in our decisions, our relationships, and our joy.
[00:15:39] Speaker B: And we're not afraid to talk about it. I'm not saying you have to go tell everyone in the grocery store that you.
[00:15:45] Speaker A: Please don't do that. Don't forget to check out line and start yelling stuff like that.
[00:15:49] Speaker B: But you can share with people, you can acknowledge, like, wow, this is part of me.
It's beautiful.
[00:15:58] Speaker A: Here's a reminder. You don't have to wait until it's finished to celebrate it. Integration is the celebration. You are the evidence.
[00:16:08] Speaker B: Integration is the celebration.
[00:16:12] Speaker A: Yes, that's going to be.
[00:16:17] Speaker B: A celebration. I want that to be in the next Hamilton.
[00:16:19] Speaker A: Okay, Lin Manuel, you listening? Bring it in there.
Okay. So we've named the evidence, we've honored the progress, and started to integrate these shifts into the way that we live.
That explorer deserves a soundtrack because this work is quiet yet radiant. Our becoming isn't something to hide. It's something to shine with.
Which leads to the song for this episode.
[00:16:49] Speaker B: And when you're becoming, you can't help but shine. That's the thing. You see it in other people's see of them. Be like, what are you doing differently? Did you get your hair done? What's happening to your face?
[00:16:58] Speaker A: All right, here is a song that is a reminder of our growth, our joy, and our presence all being proof you are the evidence. The song is Shining by DJ Khaled featuring Beyonce and Jay Z.
Check out this week's song on the YO podcast playlist on Spotify.
I love that. And drop down to your lower register. Yeah.
[00:17:35] Speaker B: I was like, that is her singing.
[00:17:37] Speaker A: That is her singing it.
[00:17:40] Speaker B: You know what's so great about that song is we're talking about alchemizing, right? Yes.
Like internalizing the shifts, the transformation. Right. Becoming that new entity, like more true whole you.
[00:18:00] Speaker A: And I couldn't think of like two other three other artists who believe in celebration. Like what? DJ Khaled, Beyonce, and Jay Z. They celebrate themselves. That's so you don't really need the clap for them, cuz they going to clap for themselves.
[00:18:15] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:18:16] Speaker A: Like, we're shining.
[00:18:18] Speaker B: We're shining.
[00:18:18] Speaker A: Understand where I started. And look, I am doing this. I'm living this. I'm believing this life and believing that.
[00:18:27] Speaker B: I'm worthy of this life.
[00:18:29] Speaker A: The stories that I pray for, the belief in, the dream and the vision that I had, like, yeah, exactly right. Here it is.
[00:18:35] Speaker B: It's all right here.
[00:18:37] Speaker A: Right here.
[00:18:38] Speaker B: And internalizing that and having that add to how you see yourself, who you are, how you show up.
[00:18:45] Speaker A: I hope y' all let the beat of this song, like, linger in your bones and just like, remind you that that's exactly what this season is about. Shining with the evidence of who you've already become.
[00:18:58] Speaker B: And I love because body movement in this way helps you to integrate those types of. Of things, I think helps you to integrate those shifts and those. Those even seemingly small minute choices or awarenesses. Like, integrate it into this is I am so part of who I am.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: All right, all right. We are shining. And it is time for our question of the day.
Yippee.
What's one shift, habit or truth you want to carry Forward into your next season.
[00:19:39] Speaker B: I want to carry forward, talking encouragingly to myself, sort of like internally coaching and mentoring myself and just keeping that positive fire and that self affirmative affirmation and that independence and following intuition.
Really nurturing that and encouraging that.
[00:20:05] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
It's active. I love that. I feel like mine plays very well with yours. Mine is definitely in action and it is remembering to set clear positive into intentions for my day. Like, this setting of intentions is not really just a routine, but like a source of inspiration that I feel like my motivation for the rest of the day. Like, if at any point during the day, like, it dips a little bit, like, what. What intentions did I set this morning for this day? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I think they do play well.
[00:20:45] Speaker B: Look at them playing well together.
[00:20:47] Speaker A: Yes. Being positive and like, what do you want to see and what do you. How do you want to show up today? Like that.
[00:20:54] Speaker B: Right.
[00:20:54] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:20:55] Speaker B: And to be fair, explorers, the answer to how do you want to show up today? Might be I want to show up lying in my bed in my pajamas all day.
[00:21:05] Speaker A: Listen, I need some rest.
[00:21:06] Speaker B: And that is a beautiful thing.
Self knowledge is beautiful.
[00:21:10] Speaker A: Like, when I wake up on those, I'm like, I am low energy today. And that's just. Just what's going to be today. And I'm good with that.
[00:21:17] Speaker B: Take care of my. Take care of my body. Take care of my mind. Take care of my soul.
[00:21:22] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay, well, all right.
[00:21:25] Speaker B: That is also an action.
[00:21:26] Speaker A: That is an action. That is a choice. So I found A quote from Dr. Maya Angelou.
[00:21:33] Speaker B: Oh, I love her.
[00:21:34] Speaker A: So this is a wonderful day. I've never seen. Seen this one before.
[00:21:44] Speaker B: Right. Like, waking up with that thought every day. When I came in downstairs, I was talking to the security guard and I was like, how are you doing? He said, I'm a little tired, but I'm, you know, grateful for this day. I'm like, yes, yes.
Every day anew, every moment, an opportunity, a chance, a choice, a gift.
[00:22:08] Speaker A: A.
[00:22:09] Speaker B: Time, a chance to celebrate yourself.
[00:22:11] Speaker A: To celebrate yourself. Yes.
[00:22:13] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:22:14] Speaker A: Explorers, your life is already evidence of growth, of resilience, of healing. You don't have to wait until it's finished to celebrate because you're already in the middle of your answered prayers.
So today, let yourself shine. Name what's working. Honor the shifts. Celebrate the wins. No matter how quiet, because you are the evidence right here. If this episode gave you a shift, a pause, or even a spark of joy, share it with someone else who's walking their own journey of becoming. And don't forget to subscribe, leave a review and meet us back here next week. Until then, keep noticing, keep celebrating, and keep keep living as the proof you're becoming is sacred.
[00:23:01] Speaker B: I really value the acknowledgement of I'm doing this, I'm choosing this, I'm moving through this, or I'm moving toward this.
I celebrate where I am in this moment.
We celebrate you. We thank you for listening, Explorers. We love you so much. Take good care.
