So, explorers, let's dive into today's episode.
[00:00:53] Speaker B: Hey, explorers, it's Tara. Karen and I are so glad that you are here with us today.
[00:00:59] Speaker C: So glad, so happy.
[00:01:01] Speaker B: So why are we so happy? Because we are giving you the realest, rawest, most authentic, slightly unhinged episode today. Okay.
[00:01:12] Speaker C: This very. There was.
[00:01:13] Speaker B: There was a plan. There is a theme that we are exploring in other content, only a little bit, that both Karen and I were like, yeah, we don't want to talk about that. For the whole month of September.
In fact, Karen said rest. What did you just say? Why?
Why? She canceled it out.
[00:01:29] Speaker C: I'm not talking about rest anymore. I don't want to talk about rest.
[00:01:32] Speaker B: It is important and we thoroughly believe it, but, baby, there is no way we could spend the entire month talking to y' all about rest. And also, we just re released the episode talking about how rest is liberation. Like, what more can we say other than that?
[00:01:46] Speaker C: Yeah, we're too hyped. We're too hyped to talk about that.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: So welcome to September.
Welcome to maybe the most unhinged version, which may just be our new normal, where there are no rules and everything is thrown out the window. And I kind of like it.
[00:02:00] Speaker C: I kind of like it. Honestly, Tara, you know and I know that this is how we are for real. For real. Like, all the time. So, like, why not? I mean, I love what we've talked about and I love our format. I've loved our guests. I've loved all the things. But when it comes down to it, this is it. Literally, you say this phrase, and I swear I feel this is the most apropos, could not be more spot on phrase to explain who we are together and how we operate. And it's banana shenanigans.
[00:02:33] Speaker B: Banana shenanigans. That's it. That's all.
[00:02:36] Speaker C: How do you know that is called a penny farthing?
[00:02:39] Speaker B: Because I saw the person writing it and we heard a tingle when they do the bail or on your left. And then the person came over our left. And I was like, well, that was unexpected. Oh, my God. And then it made me think about a unicycle. I was like, I gotta come back home and Google, how does one get upon a unicycle? And on this thing that I learned that the big wheel, little wheel bike is called a penny farthing. That's how I learned, because I wanted to know, how in the name of worlds does one ride a penny farthing? Right there is a peg or a step on the back, near the back wheel, and you scoop kick, and then you put yourself up on the seat and then you got horse, but you're from behind. Like the horse is on the side like this. You were scooting. I was like, oh, my God, what are we talking about? Like, first it was just the words. Like, oh, yeah, so there's a peg. And Eugene was like, I need to see it. I was like, me too. And so I found a video of this guy that looks like Colonel Sanders. He has suspenders and everything. And he got on and off of a penny farthing. It's the 1890s. So that happened. And then we did our turnaround and we're on the way back and just walking. Eugene and I, you know, sweat and everything. Someone said, tara Hayes. And I was like, who is Tara? Hazing me.
This is two people that we've seen riding the bike. It was HR Kathy. That's how I refer to her. Like, what? One of the people that helped me through the upside down because she did HR Like.
And she was like, I'm like, this is it. My brain was like, wait, we passed. She was like, yeah, I saw. You said, but this morning I said I was gonna stop. And I was like, this literally made my day, y'.
[00:04:16] Speaker D: All.
[00:04:16] Speaker B: What are we? What?
It was amazing. So I gave her the biggest hug ever. When I got home, I text Leah. Cuz we used to do things together, meet for brunch or breakfast or whatever with Kathy after the things. And I was like, leah, I had to immediately takes you when I got home because guess who I saw this morning? And then I told her. And I was like, well, it wasn't immediately because I had to Google, how does one get on a penny farthing? First
[00:04:41] Speaker C: cannot text you. I promise.
[00:04:43] Speaker B: In the spring Web, I need to know how someone gets on the bike. So then I text Kathy too. And I was like, oh my gosh, it seriously made my day to see you this morning. Thank you for pausing your ride to say hey.
[00:04:54] Speaker C: Oh my gosh, that is so cool and crazy.
[00:04:58] Speaker B: It's been an interesting morning already. So running a list of all the people.
It was great. And then I was like, oh, I'm feeling as far as Frank today. It's gonna be a good day. I recorded my little story, and I was making my tea to get ready, because I had this plan in my bag, one Google penny farthing, to come back and review whatever notes that I had for the two episodes that we're recording. And I was like, what you got going on today? And then it was quiet, and I was like.
I turned and looked, and I was like, oh, what do you need? What do you need, a hug? What's going on? So had to put things on pause to kind of. Just for a second, and then I was like, okay. And now I need time to get back to what I was gonna do to transition from this dance again to Forest Franks. It's gonna be a good day. And then here I am, so.
[00:05:49] Speaker C: And isn't that beautiful, right? That you could sort of know what you need at the same moment as you knowing what someone else needs and you're able to give it to them, and then you're able to give yourself back what you need to get yourself back where you were.
Isn't that brilliant?
[00:06:05] Speaker B: I mean, it just makes so much sense. When you see a penny farthing, of course that's what you're able to.
[00:06:10] Speaker C: Of course that's what you have to. Yes. Because that is a magical thing. Can I just say that I thought a penny farthing was literally a currency.
[00:06:17] Speaker B: It is. That's what they call it because it's the big wheel and the little wheel.
That's why they call it that.
[00:06:24] Speaker C: It's like, all these years. I mean, since 1847, I thought that's what a penny far.
It is. And it's named for that. It's like a quarter and a.
[00:06:33] Speaker B: Whatever.
[00:06:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
I learned something new today. I'm good.
Oh, my gosh. I can't believe you got to see one of those. That is wild.
[00:06:43] Speaker B: Like, what? In the previous session in the American
[00:06:46] Speaker C: Tobacco Trail yesterday, Fergus and I were driving to his orthopedic appointment. We saw somebody in one of those low rider bikes.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: Yeah, the ones you lay back.
[00:06:53] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, lay back. And he goes, what the hell?
Never seen before. And I was like. I was like, yeah, those are pretty wild, huh? Dude, he'd never seen one. I mean, he did see one when he was really little. Yeah. She doesn't remember, but it's like that same moment of, like, what is happening. Like, when your version of reality is
[00:07:11] Speaker B: what I was expecting and what was delivered were two Completely different things.
[00:07:16] Speaker C: You heard the bell ding, ding, and you're like, I'm gonna see a Schwinn any second.
[00:07:20] Speaker B: Yeah, right.
[00:07:20] Speaker C: Somebody on by a super fast mountain bike.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: Nope.
[00:07:25] Speaker C: But it does have handles, right? Like.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: Yeah, but it's like, it's. It's. But they sit you. Yeah.
[00:07:30] Speaker C: Really not, like, high and straight, right?
[00:07:32] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:07:33] Speaker C: Oh, now I have a mission to ride a penny farthing that is going.
[00:07:36] Speaker B: Not after seeing the thing. And I was like, what?
[00:07:40] Speaker C: I'm doing. Oh, my God, I love that you got to see that this morning. Because I think life is magical. And when we get something like that, that turns us on our ear and just is like, what. It just reminds us, like, that there's so many magical, incredible things out there.
[00:07:56] Speaker B: So many magical and incredible things. And I'm like, to be a woman of whimsy. Like, to be like, oh, my God, did you see that? Like, that was so amazing.
[00:08:05] Speaker C: Exactly, Exactly.
That is the gift. But that is what the universe wants for all of us to be able to have the time and space and bandwidth to just look around and go, did you see. See that bird? Like, did you. What color? I don't even. I've never seen. Or like, did you hear that? Or, you know, that flower is like, look at that thing. Like, if you look. Look at this little cinema. It's got like 80 million of those little things in the middle. Like, whatever. Just like the magic of it, the wonder of it. Right?
[00:08:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:35] Speaker C: Like, that is what. Honestly, if I could wish anything for all of humankind, it would be that.
[00:08:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:42] Speaker C: To have those moments. To slow down enough and allow for those moments. Because honestly, at the end of the day, I think that's the most important.
[00:08:52] Speaker B: Yeah, it's important.
[00:08:53] Speaker C: You had that. You had that. You had whimsy. You had the whimsy. Yes, you had.
And.
[00:09:02] Speaker B: And it's just 11 o'. Clock. I'm like, what?
It's just 11 o'. Clock. And I thought, I'm not gonna work out before I record. Like, I need this. So I was like, I had already decided that, which is great, because then it made space for the other things. And then I was like, well, I gotta work out this afternoon, but Onyx has his grooming appointment. But then I was like, I haven't gotten a confirmation call or email or text. And then I was like, it's next week. Great. Even better.
Fantastic.
[00:09:30] Speaker C: The universe has your back, Tara. I'm scheduling all the things every time. Fergus. Library trip got rescheduled this week.
Every time it was because I had something else that came in like, but after the fact. Yeah, we're gonna have to do this on Friday. I'm like, oh, okay, that's actually better. And then it's supposed to be today. And then I got the thing yesterday. It's like, we're gonna actually have to do it on Tuesday. I'm like, oh my gosh. Great. Because I can go work out and then finish packing for Charlotte. Like, it's just like, I feel like the universe is like. And how would you like that?
[00:10:03] Speaker B: What would you like today? What are you open to receiving today?
Medium well.
[00:10:08] Speaker C: How do you want that? Oh, got goosebumpies. I got goosebumpies.
[00:10:12] Speaker B: Yeah. It's interesting to notice and be in the.
The receiving. I don't even know if it's receiving. It's the openness of allowing all of the things. Allowing the whimsy, allowing the support, allowing the transition and return to whatever it is I need to do. And I'm like, I'm going to do the same thing next week. So I'm just like, okay, okay, okay, okay.
[00:10:33] Speaker C: It's called flow, sister. That is flow. That is like flow at its finest. You're like, what do we got here? Okay.
[00:10:39] Speaker B: Yep, it's. Yeah. And it's been really interesting. That's just August. And like this week I've been tired. I'm like, when is my period coming? Cause I am exhausted. I'm like, this is not one of those we cranking stuff out. This is. Girl, I need a nap. I'm going to bed early. Like, I don't got time or energy and I'm not about to force it. And I was like, no, I don't feel like recording a video today. I'm like, let me see what B roll I got. I was like, I don't feel like doing it. I'm not doing it.
[00:11:00] Speaker C: Yep. Yeah. Hell yeah. Hormones are like, no thank you.
[00:11:04] Speaker B: Listen, go sit down, baby.
[00:11:05] Speaker C: Go sit down. Go sit down. I loved your post. You're laying down. I was just like, that's from when
[00:11:09] Speaker B: we ran away last.
[00:11:11] Speaker C: Oh, really?
Oh, it's so good. I pictured you doing that yesterday.
[00:11:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Cuz I also did it yesterday, but I was home yesterday and I was like, but I have something that speaks to the spaciousness that I am in today.
[00:11:24] Speaker C: Yes, you do. I went to look for purples yesterday for your paint.
[00:11:29] Speaker B: Are you going lights? Are you doing more mauvy? Like, where are we? What's.
[00:11:33] Speaker C: I have been all over the place. Do you remember my Rosebrook Drive bathroom. That really deep, dark purple.
[00:11:38] Speaker B: It was called the downstairs bathroom.
[00:11:40] Speaker C: Yeah, it was, like, vaguely.
[00:11:42] Speaker B: I can kind of. I can almost see it. Yeah.
[00:11:44] Speaker C: Deep. Great. Purples are so deep. And I was thinking, oh, that'd be cool. I'm like, no, I don't. That's going to be too dark for what I want. And so I went to Lowe's. I got these four different paint things, and the one I was most drawn to on the phone when I was looking at paychips was called Bravo. And I was like, oh, that's kind of cute. Then when I saw in person, I was like, oh, that is.
And then I found one that's, like, purpley. They're both lighter than I thought I would want because I would keep looking at your bold blue, and I'm like, no, that's not the purple, though. It's gonna be either. This purple that's kind of got a little bit of, like, bluish gray in it.
But the one I love most is called Kismet, and it's like a mauvy purple. It's like a.
It's like an ever so light pink in the purple.
[00:12:30] Speaker B: Kismet.
[00:12:31] Speaker C: Kismet.
[00:12:32] Speaker D: Color.
[00:12:33] Speaker B: Ooh. Ooh.
I kind of like that.
[00:12:37] Speaker C: Right?
[00:12:38] Speaker B: Let's see. Let me see what they say. Yeah, I want to.
[00:12:41] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh.
[00:12:41] Speaker B: That is beautiful.
[00:12:43] Speaker C: I didn't even think about looking it up, so that's good, too.
[00:12:45] Speaker B: Color is raindrop, and it's like a light teal.
[00:12:48] Speaker C: Share your screen right this moment. Can you share your screen? What is happening? What.
[00:12:52] Speaker B: What is going on over here?
[00:12:54] Speaker C: Don't dream without me. Oh, now.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: But this color is a coordinating color for it. But look how it looks with natural tones.
[00:13:06] Speaker C: Oh, my God. It looks even better.
[00:13:08] Speaker B: Look, it's like, with, like, what? With grays and it works.
[00:13:12] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a natural.
[00:13:16] Speaker B: Karen, look at it.
[00:13:17] Speaker C: Wow. Isn't it pretty?
[00:13:19] Speaker B: Look at it.
[00:13:20] Speaker C: Oh, I'm so glad. I'm. It's like. It's medium. It's, like, a little bit cool, a little bit warm.
[00:13:26] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:13:26] Speaker C: Because it's got red and blue. Right. It's like the per. It's like I can just picture it behind me.
[00:13:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:34] Speaker C: Although I do partly feel I'm like, is it going to be weird? Like, I'm purple, you're blue. Like, I know I'm copying, but, like, I just love it so much. But I think at least if nothing else, one of the walls in my bedroom is gonna have this color.
[00:13:46] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:13:46] Speaker C: And I'm like, screw It.
[00:13:47] Speaker B: Now you have options. And now I have options for backdrops.
[00:13:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
Yeah. And it just makes me so happy.
[00:13:55] Speaker B: It's so nice.
[00:13:56] Speaker C: Look at that. And my bedding is natural with a gray cover, so it's like. Yeah, look at that.
[00:14:02] Speaker B: Okay, that's a great choice. That's a great choice. Good on you for being open. You're like, I want a purple, but, you know, this one is not quite right.
[00:14:12] Speaker C: I know. I was like, straight up. Purple was like.
[00:14:14] Speaker B: And the name, though.
[00:14:15] Speaker C: And the name. And then when I saw what the name was, I was like, stop it.
Stop it.
I did not pick them for the names. And yet here we are.
[00:14:24] Speaker B: And here we are. Here we are.
[00:14:26] Speaker C: I went for a walk. I was reading my book. Walking and listening. Because I'm doing something where you read it and you listen at the same time to. To osmosis. Better, quicker, deep, more deeply. And did I tell you, your wishes, your command, that book that I'm reading?
Yeah. How we are all the genie, right? Everything that we see in our life, we've created because of what we've transmitted.
[00:14:51] Speaker D: Right.
[00:14:51] Speaker C: Our frequency.
And it's part of our learning to understand that. I mean, I've said this for the last. How many years? We are responsible for our lives and our happiness, right? And I'm. Now I'm literally reading, like, freaking scientific data and research that measures our brain frequency and the waves and things we put out, and I'm like, oh, my God, it's so true. Like, I didn't even know what I was saying.
There have been so many things in this book where I'm like, oh, my God. I said, like, eight years ago, I didn't even know what I. What that meant. Like, I didn't even know what I was.
And then I played some songs, some musical.
I'm. I'm like, I'm so lit up. I'm so, like. I'm so right on track. I can't even. I can't even explain it with the words.
Don't you love those moments when you're like. The universe is like, yeah. You are flowing, my sister. I am.
[00:15:44] Speaker B: I am.
[00:15:45] Speaker C: You put your phone in the dryer.
Awesome.
Oh, my God. That's so awesome.
I love that so much.
[00:15:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:57] Speaker C: Yeah, I love it.
[00:15:57] Speaker B: I put my phone in the dryer.
[00:15:59] Speaker C: That's hilarious. And I love that so much because this morning, well, I just posted a story which, I don't know, literally, like, I got out of bed, and I was like, oh, people need to know this. Yeah. And then I thought, and then I had, like, three more ideas.
[00:16:15] Speaker B: It's so good you found Karen, the real Karen, on the porch. And you also did the thing in the moment, like, people need to know this. And then the other.
Yeah, yeah. I'm like, what's bumping?
[00:16:26] Speaker C: I'm creative everywhere. What? What? What's. What's with the.
I'm gonna have fun if I'm doing this. I'm gonna have fun. By God, I'm gonna have fun.
[00:16:35] Speaker B: Exactly. Because what the other way is.
It's a chore. And who wants to do chores?
[00:16:40] Speaker C: Not me. I don't even like that where I hate that word.
Like, it.
[00:16:45] Speaker B: Trying to figure out how to not do chores around here. Like, what?
[00:16:48] Speaker C: There's so much in this freaking 20. Whatever.
Oh, my God. There's like, seriously, we got to get one of the interns pulling that out.
You saying penny farthing like 14 times.
[00:17:00] Speaker B: You understand? I saw a penny farthing. Oh, my wallet.
[00:17:04] Speaker C: Penny farther. Penny farther. Penny farther. Penny farther. Penny farther.
[00:17:07] Speaker B: We're gonna do that.
That is today's extra story. What are we supposed to be doing? Recording an episode. But what are we talking about? Penny farthing and creativity. So.
[00:17:17] Speaker C: So what? What do we want? Are we talking about penny farthings today? I don't know.
[00:17:21] Speaker B: What's this? The episode today. Episode today is September.
[00:17:24] Speaker C: Creativity. What? Or no, it's supposed to be rest.
[00:17:26] Speaker B: It could be now. It's supposed to be rest, but there is no way I think it should be a month talking about rest. I don't know.
This is now the episode. I don't even care what was supposed to happen. This is absolutely the episode now.
[00:17:41] Speaker C: Penny farthing portal. In the penny farthing portal. Penny farthing.
[00:17:45] Speaker B: Oh, Penny farthing.
I don't know, but.
And I love how this has flowed organically, and I feel like we owe our explorers a little backstory. Every September, Karen and I do this. It usually happens off the pod, but literally every September, we do.
So last September, we had a come to Jesus about content is not content in the way that we want our content to content. So we're not doing that. And we went on a walk, and it was magical. Karen saw a maple. There was this orb weaver spider on the trail. The same trail that I saw said penny farthing, mind you, same one. So this is, you know, a little reset, a little reconnection that is on the heels of both of us finding our authenticity. The word for me last week was congruence. So making sure that the outer and the inner, both in alignment and both Feel really good to who I am and who I want others to receive me as.
[00:18:42] Speaker C: Yeah, this is perfect timing. And as we were just talking about too, about, like, me not even recognizing who sometimes shows up on social media because I'm so serious, because I believe so deeply in this, but I realized that I can believe deeply in something and communicate it in an authentic, congruent way that is absolutely light and playful and silly and. And that feels more real to me. And so, like, yeah, I'm finding that. And you're finding, like, this freedom and. And this platform and. Hell yes.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: Did you say freedom? Oh, freedom. Freedom. Oh, freedom.
What I read this morning, and one of the things that I'm reading currently this morning was about the three images we all have. Your perceived image, your projected image, and your actual image, which then reminded me of the ego so slightly.
[00:19:34] Speaker C: What you wanted to go down the psychology world?
[00:19:37] Speaker B: I wanted to, but I'm like, this feels good. One of the notes from what I read this morning, it says, freedom is found in living according to the truth in our inward parts while avoiding self promotion or self preservation. And I was like, yeah, inside, match, outside. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Freedom. That's where it's found. And the fact that you just said freedom, I'm like, that's exactly what we've been living. Like, when you have the awareness, the noticing that this.
That's not me. Like, I don't know who that is, but that's not quite me. And how do I go get her? And then you find her and you're like, oh, I'm never letting you go.
[00:20:11] Speaker C: They're like, I remember you. Yep, this feels like home.
[00:20:14] Speaker B: I remember you.
[00:20:14] Speaker C: I love you. This feels like home.
[00:20:15] Speaker B: This feels like home. And this is freedom.
Is that a song? That's our song, right? I don't know. We'll find out momentarily. That is truly.
On what you were saying earlier this week, this question you asked of what is it that we want to create? What is it that we are called to do? And part of our calling is to bring. Bring as many people in harmony and congruence and alignment and into freedom with their inside and their outside. And that's what we're here to do.
[00:20:43] Speaker C: Yes, we are the we. We are.
We're just like. We're just like the little. Like the little walker or the little cane that you use just when you're first starting out, you're just like, oh, but I'm. Is that really. Yeah. Yep. That feel. Yep. That's. Yeah. How does that Feel. Does that feel good? Yeah. Then that is part of who you are. We're just here to support that little baby. Baby to crawl.
[00:21:03] Speaker B: And then walking and farting.
[00:21:05] Speaker C: We are the toggle. What is that thing called, Peg?
We are the pig on the penny farthing of your life, my friends.
[00:21:13] Speaker B: There you go.
[00:21:15] Speaker C: A little boost. Just let me. Here, wait. Oh, wait.
[00:21:18] Speaker B: Just. Oh, slightly to the left. There.
[00:21:20] Speaker C: You grab those handlebars now. You got it.
[00:21:23] Speaker B: Oh, this can't even know.
[00:21:26] Speaker C: Petty farthing.
Sweet penny farthing. That might be my new expression.
[00:21:31] Speaker B: Penny farthing.
[00:21:32] Speaker C: When something unexpected comes and it's just, like, miraculous. You're just, like, it's funny. It's the awe and wonder of it. Sweet penny farthing.
This is amazing.
[00:21:42] Speaker B: Okay. This is amazing. This is unhinged. This is beautiful. This is us. And I did find this song. This is. George Michael does have a song called Freedom.
[00:21:57] Speaker A: Check out this week's song on the YO Podcast playlist on Spotify.
[00:22:05] Speaker C: Gotta get back to me.
[00:22:07] Speaker B: If that is not the sentence that sums up this journey that you and I have been in before the portal. In the portal. And I know absolutely after, like, what?
[00:22:23] Speaker C: Complete reworking of reality.
[00:22:25] Speaker B: Complete reworking and shaping what's true.
Shaping it around truth. Oh, my gosh. So as we were dancing and we said something about shaking, and I was like, okay.
[00:22:40] Speaker C: I was like, yeah, George, shake that. He's like, it looks good.
Looks good. So shake it.
[00:22:45] Speaker B: I was like, oh, well, the title of the song is Freedom, and we are floating and ethereal and grounded. Like, all of these things that don't really seem like they go together, but they are the whole of who you are. And I was like, okay, so what is the question? What question is coming to me as we are dancing in all of these states? And it was.
[00:23:03] Speaker C: I know. You got it.
[00:23:04] Speaker B: I got it. And it came to me and it just said, here we go.
Today's Q O T D is when do you feel most free to be fully yourself?
So it could be, you know, around people, certain places. I mean, relationships, seasons. It could be any of those things.
[00:23:27] Speaker C: What you got more and more. It's everywhere and all the time. And yet, like, when I'm in my living room dancing, like, we just were like, I'm just like, I could, like, seriously, when I'm sitting at my piano and playing the things that are part of me, that are part of my soul that are just coming out like that, it feels like ultimate freedom, ultimate alignment, congruence, Right When I'm in nature, I feel it. And yeah, there's a growing number of humans that I feel safe with to really, really let my freak flag fly, honestly, when it comes right down to it. And it's just growing and growing and grows as I get more and more comfortable with being all of who I am because I am that 6 year old skipping in the woods. Like, that's literally who I am. So let it roll.
[00:24:28] Speaker B: I agree. It is easier now to be more fully myself in all of the places I have worked on integration. I've done the therapy, I've done the things that break down some of the walls that I put up in terms of protection. Like, there would be a work Tara, and she's very different than Tara with her kids, Tara with her friends, with this set of friends and not that set of friends. Tara. At first watch at brunch, it was exhausting. And it was too much.
[00:24:54] Speaker C: So, so exhausting.
[00:24:56] Speaker B: So now, like in congruence and learning things about myself and letting my full sassiness be on display in all of the places, the full weight and power of myself, it feels disingenuous when I don't lean into that. When I, like, deny, like, oh, you know, the light is. It is bright, but I can turn it down a little bit. No, I'm not. I put your glasses is on. Like, I don't got time for that. Like, either you can handle it or you don't.
[00:25:21] Speaker C: It's not my problem.
[00:25:22] Speaker D: Right?
[00:25:22] Speaker B: It really isn't. Like, can I still approach things with care and. Yes, absolutely. But I'm not about to diminish or downplay that. There is power and greatness that I exude. And I remember in corporate life when someone said that I was aggressive and I was like, baby, you feel intimidated by me because I am owning all of my confidence and saying the things with my whole chest. That's not a me problem. That's a you problem. Hate it for you, but, you know, that's you so fully me in all of the places because I am more in alignment, more in congruence in those walls. We tore them down. Okay.
[00:25:59] Speaker C: Yeah, just. Wrecking ball. Just brought in the wrecking ball.
[00:26:03] Speaker B: Okay. Miley Cyrus. I came in like a wrecking ball. Took all of it down to the. No, not doing that.
[00:26:08] Speaker C: And that's the thing, right? When you start to embody that, especially in the workplace, that confidence, that truth, that the authenticness of you and your sassiness and your, your belief in yourself was coming through every cell in your body and, and in a place where that's in A lot of workplaces, that's not celebrated, right? That's like, no, you have to fit in.
[00:26:36] Speaker B: Like, what are you doing? Like, be the cog.
[00:26:39] Speaker C: Yeah. Be on the same wave as we
[00:26:42] Speaker B: all are in smallness. And you're saying like your six year old self skipping again. Skipping. Gag me, but I forgot you don't like to.
[00:26:49] Speaker C: But that's hilarious that I use that.
[00:26:51] Speaker B: But like, I'm reminded of the story, like I told recently about my four year old self. She said to her granddaddy with her whole self, like speaking reality, it wasn't rude and it wasn't defiant. Like, just like this is my capacity. And that sounds like it's too much because this is all I have. Like I have two hands and two feet. That's all I got. So what you asking? Seems like I need more than what I got and I can't.
[00:27:13] Speaker C: So call again later. Call back later.
[00:27:18] Speaker B: But I can't do it right now
[00:27:20] Speaker C: because you literally just asked me that
[00:27:22] Speaker B: and I'm in the middle of people, so I love that.
[00:27:26] Speaker C: Right. I think there's just such clarity in our. In our four to seven year old.
Such clarity. There's such truth, there's such beauty, there's such wisdom in what feels like very obvious statements. But the people who get farther and farther away from that self, that child, right. In their own lives, like, they can't. It's more about comprehending. Like I don't understand.
Like, it's not. It's about a feeling, right? It's not about a thought.
[00:27:54] Speaker B: No, this is.
[00:27:57] Speaker C: Oh, man.
[00:27:58] Speaker B: What I even love about this is that the quote for the original actually works.
[00:28:04] Speaker C: And of course it does.
Of course it does.
[00:28:07] Speaker B: Okay. All right, so I found a quote from French philosopher. I think his name is Michael de la Montaigne. I think however you Frenchify it.
[00:28:18] Speaker C: Michel. Michel de la Montaigne.
[00:28:22] Speaker B: He said, the greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.
[00:28:29] Speaker C: Forget it. Are you serious? That was the quote. It goes better with it.
And literally George Michael said that. Like, I don't belong to you, you don't belong to me. We each belong to ourselves. Come on,
[00:28:45] Speaker B: stop it now. We're just gonna have an episode built around a song or a quote where they ended. We see what happens.
[00:28:50] Speaker C: Yeah, we just see what happens.
[00:28:52] Speaker B: What. What is going on? So yeah, that is the quote. Beautiful that. That arrived ahead of the episode, ahead
[00:29:01] Speaker C: of the derailing of the new way,
[00:29:04] Speaker B: which is just like, are we serious right now? All right, so that's what we have for you today, maybe for September and beyond. We don't know. We're just here on the ride. And Explorer may you remember that making yourself smaller, quieter or easier to hold is not what you have to do in order to belong. Because you belong to you.
[00:29:29] Speaker C: Nobody gonna take that away. You belong to you. This has been amazing. I have loved this so much. And that is not just the caffeine talking.
This has been liberating. It's been joyful. It's been so creative. We've just been on the fly, bringing our whole selves, bringing our joy, bringing our ridiculosity, bringing the penny farthing and just riding off into the sunset. Explorers, explorers, may you see and stop and notice your penny farthing today.
We love you so much. Take good care.
